Is the Dozzle System Safe for Dogs, Kids, and Plants?
Short Answer: Yes. Long Answer: Here's Why.
We didn’t build Dozzle in a lab. We built it in our backyard. With turf, a kid, and a dog named Mozzarella who thinks foam is a snack.
So yeah—safety mattered from Day One.
If you’re wondering whether Dozzle is safe to use around your dog, your kids, your plants, or even your bare feet, you’re not alone. This is one of the most common questions we get.
So let’s break it down.
What's Actually in FoamZyme?
FoamZyme is our enzyme-based cleaning solution, and it’s made of just three ingredients:
Water – the base, obviously.
Coco Betaine – a coconut-derived foaming agent. It’s so gentle it’s used in baby shampoo.
Evogen MEC-B Enzyme Blend – a proprietary mix of Bacillus bacteria and enzymes from Genesis Biosciences that breaks down organic odor compounds.
"It’s cleaner than most things under your kitchen sink."
No bleach. No ammonia. No artificial fragrances. No mystery chemicals.
Just real ingredients that are safe enough for daily use around the stuff (and creatures) you love most.
Is It Safe for Dogs?
Yes. Mozzarella lives and plays on this turf daily. And like any good dog, she sometimes tries to lick the foam. Not ideal, but not dangerous.
The formula is:
✅ Non-toxic
✅ Free of alcohols, solvents, or artificial scents
✅ Gentle on paws and bellies
We had it tested by our supplier and reviewed by multiple pet parents before launch. The verdict: no issues whatsoever.
Is It Safe for Kids?
Absolutely. Our kid helped us test it.
He’s 4 years old. Loves bubbles. Also loves chasing the foam trail Mozzarella leaves behind like a sudsy parade.
Because FoamZyme is made from natural, food-safe-grade components, we’re confident using it around children. Just don’t spray it at your kid (or do, but maybe not in the eyes).
Pro tip: If your toddler runs through the foam barefoot, it’s not a problem—it’s basically like stepping in bubble bath.
Is It Safe for Plants and Soil?
Yes. This is one of the most under-asked but important questions.
FoamZyme doesn’t disrupt the soil ecosystem. It uses naturally occurring bacteria strains (like Bacillus subtilis) that are already found in healthy soil environments.
So if you accidentally spray your garden bed? You’re fine.
If you’re worried about enzyme runoff? Also fine.
In fact, because Dozzle uses enzymes instead of chemicals, it helps avoid harsh runoff that typical cleaners would dump into your landscaping.
How Does It Compare to Other Cleaners?
Let’s compare Dozzle to the usual turf-cleaning suspects:
Cleaner Type | Safe for Dogs? | Rinse Required? | Artificial Fragrance? |
---|---|---|---|
Bleach-based cleaners | ❌ No | ✅ Yes | ✅ Yes |
Enzyme + scent combos | ⚠️ Usually | ⚠️ Sometimes | ✅ Yes |
FoamZyme (Dozzle) | ✅ Yes | ❌ No | ❌ No |
“Dozzle is the only cleaner I’ve used that doesn’t make me nervous about where my dog is walking afterward.”
How Often Can You Use It?
Daily. Even multiple times a day if you need to.
Because FoamZyme is so gentle, it’s safe for:
Morning and evening cleanups
Post-play pee zones
Pre-party yard prep
Indoor turf setups
What If My Dog Eats the Foam?
Been there. Mozzarella has taste-tested FoamZyme more than once.
No digestive issues. No vet visits. No regrets. Just one confused Labrador and a slightly smaller foam pile.
We don’t recommend feeding it to your dog—but it won’t hurt them if they sneak a bite.
Science Says It’s Cool Too
According to Jeff our contact at at Genesis:
“The Bacillus strains we use are derived from soil environments and are non-pathogenic. They’re designed to outcompete odor-causing microbes, not cause any harm to pets, people, or plants.”
And because the foam keeps enzymes moist longer than sprays, you get more effective cleaning with less product—and no need to rinse chemicals into the yard.
Why Safety Was Non-Negotiable
Because we live here too.
We weren’t going to build something that required gloves or garden shoes. We wanted something we could spray half-asleep in the morning without worrying about what it would touch.
The Dozzle System had to be:
🌱 Plant-safe
🐾 Dog-safe
👶 Kid-safe
🦶 Barefoot-safe
And if it wasn’t? We weren’t going to sell it.
The Bottom Line
You can spray this stuff in your yard, watch your dog roll in it, and still let your kid run barefoot five minutes later.
It’s clean. It’s natural. It’s tested. And it works.
Mozzarella tested it herself. Multiple times.
She approves.
Cheers,
Nick & Mozzarella
